Wiley is a musician, Songwriter, music producer & a Grammy-winning mix engineer, and a gentle giant of a man who brings the thunder to each of The Waiting’s commanding live performances. He’s also the Waiting’s co-leader/co-founder along with Rick Winking. Doc has elevated the work of A-list artists and grassroots performers alike throughout his career. And, having spent time in the South during his youth, he is likely to show up to band meetings, rehearsals, and gigs with Southern low country cooking in tow. Wiley’s interest in Tom Petty dates back to his 1976 debut with the Heartbreakers, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, noting that this was a rock and roll album that wasn’t afraid to spill a swig of early punk butane onto the vinyl. Wiley has had the privilege of seeing Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers perform at four different concerts over the decade.
